10 Wardrobe Essentials

This list is all about helping you build your ideal wardrobe. These are the basic items that never go out of fashion.

They’re your investment pieces, the classics you’ll wear over and over and keep for years. You’ll see I say this a lot.

It’s all about buying less, buying smarter and saving money.

These 10 pieces are the must haves.

Black pants

These can be worn to work with a shirt or jacket or out to dinner or drinks with friends. They can be dressed up with heels or down with a t-shirt and sneakers.

Black skirt

This is also a versatile piece and works with a shirt or t-shirt, add a blazer or wear it with a jumper and boots in Winter. An A-line skirt is the most flattering style.

Black dress

Every woman needs that little black dress. I’m on repeat when I say it can be dressed up with a blazer and heels or down with a biker jacket and sneakers or sandals.

Jeans

Nothing beats a well fitting pair of jeans. Whether you go for the skinny leg, boyfriend, mom jeans or ripped jeans, you can guarantee you’ll wear them again and again because jeans never go out of fashion and go with pretty much everything.

White shirt

You’ll wear this on repeat because it’s a classic item that will always be in style. A white shirt works with any pair of pants or skirt, jeans and shorts. You can wear it under a dress in cooler months and with a blazer, cardigan or biker jacket.

Black blazer

Whether you opt for one with buttons or without, pick one that comes to your waist or a little lower. There are so many in stores pretty much all year round so hold out for one you love. There’s no need to settle for something that’s not a perfect fit.

Leather or faux leather jacket

This dresses an outfit up or down depending on your shoes and accessories and also gives it that edgy vibe.

Denim jacket

A denim jacket is a more casual option and there’s no reason you can’t wear denim with denim.

Black heels

A pair of comfortable black heels are essential as they can be worn with your black pants, skirts, jeans and dresses. They can be worn to work or when heading out to play.

Handbag

Invest in something sleek and in a classic colour so it can be worn to work everyday and also grabbed when you head out on weekends. Your handbag doesn’t have to match your shoes, so there’s no need for multiple options.

So that’s the list. Consider it your starting point. Once you’ve got the basics, you continue to build your wardrobe. Add in a few on trend pieces each season if you want but don’t splash out too much on these as they’re unlikely to be in fashion for more than a season or two.

Look for pieces all year round that’ll complement what you already own and items that are versatile so you get value for money.

To look good and feel good doesn’t take a Kardashian sized budget. Make smart decisions and invest in quality items that fit you well so you’ll hold onto them.

If you think you need a hand adding all or any these items to your wardrobe, check out the style packages available or get in touch here.
