My All Time Favourite Buys

I don’t have a big wardrobe. Instead it is carefully curated filled with classic pieces, wardrobe essentials, almost exclusively monochrome and minimalist. What I have in my wardrobe I wear over and over again, mixing and matching with everything else.

It’s a capsule wardrobe and has been a work in progress for a very long time.

While I don’t like playing favourites, I definitely have pieces in my wardrobe that I love a little more than others and wear a little more than others too.

Some are understated and some make a bit more of a statement.

Here they are and why they’ve made in onto my most loved list.

Black blazer

It goes with almost everything in my wardrobe and instantly dresses an outfit up such as jeans and a tee or over a dress. It is something that never goes out of style and I wear it to work, out for drinks and a casual catch up with friends. I’ve had this one for years - definitely an investment piece.

The fun blazer

I saw this and needed to have it. It’s a little bit more bold and out there and looks great with jeans. I don’t get as much wear out of out than my black blazer but I feel really good when I put this one on.

White shirt

When I don’t know what to wear, I go for this white shirt. It pairs with anything from jeans to pants, a skirt or shorts. I know that if I’m wearing this I’ll feel comfortable and confident.

White lace shirt

Well this top is a whole lot of wow and a little bit extra. It is me stepping out of my style comfort zone, wearing something that makes a statement with the lace and the high neck and the big sleeve. It makes me feel fancy and who doesn’t love that.

Black long sleeve dress

The detail on this with the buttons at the wrist and the structured shoulder sets it aside from the many other black dresses - short and long sleeve - that I have in my wardrobe.

Lightweight cardigan

It is perfect for in between weather, for those cold mornings or to layer underneath a coat. The colour is so versatile and I wear it over dresses to work, over jeans and a t-shirt on weekends or when taking my kids to the zoo. It has a waist tie which i have tied at the back to give it a little more shape when it hangs.

Faux fur jacket

This is so warm and just so cool. I feel fun and edgy in it and it also again works on top of plenty of pieces I have in my wardrobe. I live in Canberra where it gets very cold in Winter so anything warm that looks as stylish as this, makes the list.

Cut out tank

This is the only ‘colour’ you’ll see me wear and I love the richness. The cutouts at the top are fun and I can layer it during the cooler months under cardigans, blazers or coats.

So there you have it - my favourites - and I think you can understand why I've chosen these above everything else.
