Who I Go To For Style Inspo
Style is so personal and such an individual thing but sometimes a little outside inspiration can give you a little refresh, give you some new ideas or take you out of your comfort zone to try new things.
By no means am I saying copy what someone else does because what you wear needs to be you and you need to feel comfortable and confident in your outfits. But, there are so many stylish people in this world, we can have a look and take from it what we want.
Here’s my style inspo list:
Jess Dempsey
Her style is achievable and effortlessly chic. She has in her wardrobe a lot of classic pieces like denim skirts, blazers and jeans but also adds a pop of colour as well as her high end vintage pieces. Jess shows me how I can dress outfits up and down and collaborates with some really great brands, showcasing their new season ranges before they hit stores.
Ashleigh D’Mello
You know I love to wear black and so does this Aussie living in Boston. She is always giving me ideas on wearing all black outfits. She also adds some neutral pieces which suits my style too.
Henne/Nadia Bartel
Henne is the clothing brand from Nadia Bartel and is all about basics and classic pieces from tanks to shirts, blazers, jeans and pants. They are great pieces to mix and match with what you have in your wardrobe. When styles are released they’re often limited edition so you won’t see every second person wearing it.
Nadia is often wearing Henne so I look to her personal style as well.
Victoria Beckham
So I can’t afford anything she wears but I can recreate her outfits with pieces in my price range. I love her in a tailored suit, then she’ll pair a tailored pair of pants with a casual knit. She can also rock a pair of jeans with a blazer or an oversized shirt. Victoria Beckham is so classy and sophisticated and I basically love everything she wears.
Amy A
Amy is the yin to my yang. Her wardrobe is vast, bright, bold and oh so colourful. She is body confident and showcases so many styles on her Instagram page Wear the Damn Dress. She shows that anyone can wear anything and should if they feel good in it. It’s an attitude I love and I am constantly inspired by Amy.
Victoria Latu
She is just so extra and I love it. She’ll wear feathers and sequins and velvet and then you’ll see her showcasing jeans and the most beautiful white shirt. She gives me the courage to step out of my comfort zone and try something a little different.
Amy Gerard
While she looks great in the casual outfits she wears, it is the outfits she wears to drinks or dinners that make me want to organise more social outings for myself (without kids). Amy wears really great dresses - casual and a little dressier - and has introduced me to a lot of new labels that are affordable.
And that’s the list.
If you’re in a style rut or are about to go shopping to refresh and update your wardrobe, have a look at what some of your style icons are wearing and how they’re styling their clothes, but it will looks different on you and the most important thing is that you feel like you can take on the world when you put on your outfit.
