Top 10 for 2022

As the end of the year approaches, what better time than now to look back at what I wore this year.

I know my style and what I like – classic, clean lines, a little edgy, mostly black but white and neutrals in there too plus some denim. Definitely no colour. But my style continues to evolve and change ever so slightly. As I get older I am more confident and more comfortable in who I am and that means I am confident and comfortable to try new things.

So here are my top 10 looks for 2022 from 10 to 1.

This more flowy dress is not something I usually wear because it’s a lot of material but as soon as I figured out it had pockets, it came home with me. All dresses should have pockets, plus it’s really comfy. I bought this at the beginning of the year and will wear it for many Summers to come.

I love a graphic tee and it is something that’s so easy to grab from the wardrobe, throw on with jeans or a skirt and to look effortlessly put together.

I am a blazer girl. I love the jeans, tank and blazer look with boots for Winter and then they’re the perfect trans seasonal piece. The longer length is so flattering and it just falls so nicely. Another one I’ll keep for years.

Remember how I said I tried new things this year. This is the top that stepped me way outside my comfort zone. It’s not minimal or understated but I tried it on and just knew I had to have it, if only to challenge myself and push my style boundaries.

I don’t normally wear sequins but I got a last minute invite to a ball and made somewhat of a quick decision on what dress I was going to wear. There was no time to go to my safe and comfy place for dresses and I’m so glad I added to cart. I don’t recommend not thinking before you buy but it paid off for me this time, feeling amazing in sequins.

This was a gift to myself. I work hard as a stylist and journalist and especially as a mum. I deserve nice things so bought myself this coat. It’s so cool and has an edgy vibe and I just love it.

Funny story about this. I saw the dress, tried it on and knew I had to have it but had nowhere to wear it. So I told my hubby he needed to have a birthday party. It’s a workout just to get on and off but it’s epically edgy and sexy and makes me feel a million bucks.

I was looking for a corset but not one that looked like lingerie or that was too short because that’s really not practical for my lifestyle. Then I saw this bodysuit and instantly my mind raced with all the things I could wear it with. The neckline is so flattering and feminine.

The most sensational vegan leather pants and the most sensational cut out bodysuit. Equal parts edgy and classy and classic and just a look that screams my style.

I was hunting all over the place for a birthday party dress and the search stopped here. I mean where else can you wear this than to your own party? It’s out there and extra and I definitely did not play it safe.

I don’t do new years resolutions but I will continue challenging myself style wise and surprising myself with the things I try on and love. It’s exciting and empowering and those are great feelings.

I look forward to bringing you more outfits and style tips in 2023. I want to say a big thank you for reading my blog posts and supporting me and my small business.

Happy New Year!
